When will she stop running?
With the exception of a few bruises, scrapes and sore muscles, I have been blessed with good health. I can say that things will continue to be so, because I have not been diagnosed with a life-threatening disease like leukemia or lymphoma. And until there is a cure, I won't stop running!
I have become involved with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training Program and have committed myself to running a 26.2 mile marathon. The reason that I have decided to participate is to raise money that will go toward research and patient care for people diagnosed with leukemia and lymphoma. Mark Daugherty is my "Honorary Coach," the person that I will be running in honor of. Mark is 10 years old and was diagnosed with leukimea when he was just 2 years. Thanks to treatments he has currently celebrated his last chemo shots and pills. However, not everyone diagnosed with leukemia is as fortunate as Mark and his family have been. The purpose of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training campaign is to accelerate research funding so a cure can be discovered as soon as possible. As a memeber of Team in Training, my personal challenge is to raise $3,000. Mark and I are asking for your help to meet this goal. All it will take is a minute of your time and whatever sacrifice you can make for this cause. Remember every penny counts! We can not stress this enough. So, empty those change jars and help give the best gift you can this holiday season. Just click on donate, print out the form and mail it in along with your GENEROUS donation. If you would like more information you can email me at kimberlytrenton@hotmail.com Thanks so much for your support! ---------------------------------------- REASONS TO SUPPORT THE LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY: *Every 2 1/2 weeks we lose the number of people lost in the WTC on September 11th. That means we experience the equivalent of 21 WTC diasters each year. *Every five minutes an American learns that they have leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma. Every nine minutes someone passes away from one of these diseases. *The research is working. Overall five-year survival rates for leukemia have tripled in the past 40 years, up from 14% in 1960 to 44% today, thanks to the research funded by volunteers like you! *LEUKEMIA REMAINS THE NUMBER ONE CHILD-KILLING DISEASE IN AMERICA! |
